Aerial Classes, courses and open practice

Teardrop Circus is merging with Acrobody to create Bluemoon Circus. We have classes in Moulsecoomb and Kemptown, to book classes for the kemptown location please visit:

  • Wednesdays are running throughout August except the 17th.

  • Fridays classes running only on the 5th.

  • Open friday the 12th for open practice only.

  • Garden classes running.

  • Back from September 2nd as normal...

Complete Beginners to improvers Aerial Class:

If you have always wanted to try aerial this is the class for you. Suitable for complete beginners to those that might have done a few classes, or did aerial along time ago.

We will use trapeze, rope, silks and loop, developing strength and co-ordination, whilst gaining confidence in the air.

A small supportive class.

This runs alongside the Friday beginners 5 week course

(course works out cheaper than drop-in and better for consistency!)

Complete Beginners 4 week course:

If you have always wanted to try aerial this is the class for you. Suitable for complete beginners to those that have done the last 6 week course or those that have had a break from aerial. This class will be split by abilities.

Throughout the 5 weeks we will develop and work on sequences on the aerial equipment using:

trapeze, rope, silks and loop. Developing strength and co-ordination, whilst gaining confidence in the air.

A small supportive class.

This runs alongside the Friday beginners drop-in (course works out cheaper than drop-in)

4 week course: 2nd-23rd September

  4 Week beginner/improver Aerial Course:

This course is ideal for those that have done a little bit of aerial before, or just need to refresh the basics.
Over the 4 weeks we will use trapeze, rope, silks and loop. Working on straddles, footlocks, catches, hip-locks and more!

This will be a small supportive class; developing strength, co-ordination, getting confidence in the air, creating awareness of our bodies and movement.

This is a 4 week course; £47

7th-28th September

Improvers Aerial class:



  This is not suitable for complete beginners but if you have a little bit of experience and/ or want to brush up on your skills this class  

would suit you. This class is ideal if you have had time off (lock down!) and need to work on stamina and core strength.


In the class  you will learn various climbs, a small sequence of moves using: Rope, Trapeze and Silks. Developing core strength and flexibility, gaining confidence in the air.

  Intermediate/Advance Aerial class: (17yrs+)

This class is for those with aerial experience: to be able to confidently climb, go into hip-lock and catches and invert in the air.

We will work in small groups on rope and/or silks, working on moves transitions, sequences and creative play.

FRIDAYS 7:05-8:45




  Open Practice:



 We require all participants attending the open practice to have experience in aerial skills (to be able to climb confidently, invert, hip-lock and catches) this is supervised but it is not a teacher led class.

Each person must self warm-up before practicing/ performing any aerial skills.

Garden classes:

Need some private aerial lessons? Great for conditioning and a bit more attention.  
These classes are held in the garden on the aerial rig.
Maximum of 3 people per class but ideally suited for 2 people or privates.
Working on silks, rope, trapeze or hoop- catered to your needs.

 2hrs,90mins or 1 hour classes for complete beginners to advance.

Specialist aerial workshops:

From time to time we run specialist aerial workshops. Always check our facebook page for up to date information.

We have had Boldo holding a straps masterclass, Hannahs aerial hoop workshops, Liz teaching Cloud swing.

Trapeze class: beginner level


This class is suitable for complete beginners to those that have done some aerial.
This class will be focusing on static trapeze only: building strength, stamina and co-ordination.

We will work through some basic moves and develop our technique on the trapeze, gaining confidence in the air, on the bar and under the bar.

Trapeze compliments all aerial apparatus and is great for building up strength and fitness level as well as having fun!

Trapeze Class:

In this class we will work on conditioning on the trapeze, working on moves and transitions, creating a small sequence and developing further.

We will also work on the high trapeze with beats.

This class is not suitable for beginners in aerial, it is suitable for those with good aerial knowledge but little trapeze knowledge.

      Kids Circus Class:

Mondays and Wednesdays- currently full.

Teaching in Silks, Silks Loop, Trapeze, Rope and Hoop.

Increasing strength, flexibility, self-confidence whilst having fun and keeping healthy and fit in a safe environment.

We also teach a range of floor based circus skills: juggling, tightrope, hula-hoops, unicycles and spinning plates!

 We work towards end of term shows which include circus, theatre and dance.

 We have many years of experience teaching children of all ages, at many workshops and school visits.

 This is a weekly class (term times).


All tutors hold CRB checks and insurance.

Car park at leisure centre., you must register your vehicle at reception.

important info:

  • Open practice and classes must still be booked in online, we have increased the maximum number of people, but this is still limited to 12 people

  • The equipment will now be shared (in a sensible manner and being aware of how other people may feel about this), hand sanitiser must still be used.

  • Everyone will need to pay freedom leisure membership fee of £13.50 annually or £1.70 one off fee (this is for freedom leisure not teardrop, please pay at reception when entering). You must also register your car at reception as parking is free for those using the centre.
